Between 2019 and 2021, issuance of U.S. structured notes almost doubled. Gone are the days when the U.S. was a structured retail products hinterland, where banks would send European or Asian equity derivatives sales bosses out to pasture like aging soccer stars. Now it’s a hotly contested market with the biggest banks as well as boutiques and asset managers all vying for slices of the rapidly growing pie. EQDerivatives’ Elinor Comlay reports.
