Put and call spread trading was seen on HYG and WLT as the high yield guys came to the table. HYG in particular saw 3.3x average volume, while WLT, a coal producer that could potential file for bankruptcy next year, according to BB&T Capital Markets, also saw considerable call option activity. BGC’s Jared Woodard also looks today at the effect lower oil lower oil prices and international sanctions have had on Russia. Priced in USD, the RTS Index is down nearly 35% this year and more than 25% from its early September levels.
