Daily Wrap – VIX Funds Support Weeklys; ASX Opens Hong Kong Desk

Our latest market mapping results show fairly solid support for VIX weeklys, as the CBOE gears for an Oct. 8 launch for the options. The majority of hedge funds and institutional investors active in VIX futures and options support the introduction, with some already active in VIX weekly futures. Our research shows the majority of participants see greater value in VIX weekly options, such as for tactical or for speculative purposes. In our Asia Pacific coverage, we talk to the ASX on the benefit to its derivatives market in opening up a regional office in Hong Kong.
