Derivatives strategies will play an increasingly important role in the digital asset class, said Deepak Gulati, chief investment officer at Numeus. He said cryptocurrency derivatives will be crucial for the market to continue to grow and will serve many purposes; as a downside protection hedge for people who are already long digital assets, offer leverage to the upside and yield in sideways markets. “The growth of derivatives in digital assets and crypto markets will follow a similar path to traditional markets, but at a faster pace,” he said.
