Investors Turn To Single Stocks Amid Summer Lull

​Buysiders searching for volatility plays are seeking single-stock options, amid seasonally low volumes and as index volatility remains depressed. In spite of vol action this week for single stocks including Facebook, Twitter and other tech stocks printing second-quarter results, implied volatility at the index level continued to grind lower. The Cboe’s Volatility Index flirted with a break below 12 and was hovering at 12.3 on Thursday, down from 13 at the start of the week.
