Mid-Week Roundup – SEC Adopts Title VII, Relative Value Opportunities Spied
With the Chinese markets opening soon following the Lunar New Year Celebrations, global equities are bracing themselves for a further injection of volatility. There was significant volume seen in the iShares China Large Cap today, mostly in put options. Meanwhile, the SEC adopted its Title VII rules, which will see non-U.S. persons transacting via the U.S. with other non-U.S. persons have to track their volumes and register as security-based swap participants if they hit the threshold. This could further encourage smaller offshore players to sidestep the U.S. for their derivatives business, if they haven’t already.
