CTAs Gain Momentum, But Questions Remain Over Crisis Alpha

Commodity trading advisors have been drawing investor attention for their diversification benefits and strong performance in recent years. The strategies have been highlighted to navigate market volatility, macro surprises and rising inflation. But Moritz Seibert, founder and chief executive officer at Takahē Capital, a Munich-based quantitative investment manager, said there is an assumption that CTA trend strategies can continuously offer crisis alpha, but this is not always the case.
