​With U.S. markets observing a public holiday, attention today was focused on past performance and forecasts for the year. Buyside institutions have been conserving their powder when it comes to European directional plays and observers see that as likely to continue until details emerge on expected quantitative easing from the European Central Bank and results of Greek parliamentary elections are announced. Separately, volatility and arbitrage hedge funds wrapped last year on an up with the increased vol of vol during the last quarter.
