In U.S. listed flow today, gold miner IAMGold saw increased options activity with a large put spread in IAMGold, with an investor paying 20.5c for the June – September 2 put spread about 104,400 times. The Russell 2000 also saw increased flow, with the June 5 Weekly 1290 – 1300 call spread on the index being sold at 6c 69,000 times. In Asia, we take a look at Hong Kong’s latest hedge fund, Three Stones Capital. The fund, started by a former SocGen prop trader, plans to start trading next year with three different strategies, including a credit structure arbitrage strategy, a fund focusing on option-based trend following and a volatility arbitrage strategy. In the people and firms section, Colin Bennett, head of quantitative and derivative strategy at Banco Santander, has left the firm.
