The listed U.S. options market was subdued today, with the Financial Select Sector ETF and Yahoo attracting some of the highest volumes. In the ETF space, we look at AccuShares plans to list Tuesday a novel VIX tracking exchange-traded fund on the NASDAQ Stock Market, which will not invest in VIX futures and will offer cash distributions. The ETF will consist of two options for bearish or bullish investors and was co-designed by Robert Whaley, one of the chief architects of the VIX. In the people and firms section, a former head of variable annuities hedging, Europe, at ING Insurance in the Netherlands, has joined Aegon as a senior portfolio manager covering derivatives and hedging.
