Daily Bulletin: Tuesday Dec. 9
Dec 9, 2014
Big volumes were seen in SPY Tuesday as investors rode a global selloff following declines in China and news Greece is heading for an early election. The greek election has the potential to see the country’s radical left wing party Syriza take the presidency. The party, more of a coalition of left wing groups, won a number of seats in the country’s last election. Supporters want an end to austerity and potentially an exit of the single currency. In Europe, new listings of leverage structured products increased 9% in Q3 2014 compared to the previous quarter, according to latest figures from the European Structured Investment Products Association. New listings of investment products, meanwhile, increased by 15% in Q3 2014 compared to the previous quarter.
