Greece politics has again reared its head in to global markets, as the country struggles to elect a president. Some investors were looking at downside protection today on the country’s equity benchmark ETF, with trading hitting 2.7 times above average. We also look at one U.S. pension fund’s outlook for the wider equity market this year, and how they’re positioning their portfolio. Greater dispersion is expected, so multi-strategy decoupling trades are in. In Europe, two senior equity derivatives salesmen at Société Générale are no longer working at the firm’s London offices, with their roles subject to a 30 day consultation period with the firm, while Nomura has hired an executive director in indices and equity derivatives structuring in London from the Royal Bank of Scotland.
