The decline in the European equity market on Wednesday afternoon combined with the current level of volatility has opened the opportunity to go long the Eurostoxx 50 and short the iTraxx Main. According to BNP’s Pierre-Yves Bretonniere, the firm has been receiving positive feedback from hedge funds on trading the relationship between the two underlyings despite the decline. In the U.S., CBOE has gained exclusive rights to trade options on six MSCI indices. We also have details on Oppenheimer’s plans for expansion.
