EQD Daily: Fed Bewitches Listed Volumes; Mirae Fund Details Trading Strategy
Jun 16, 2015
Mirae Asset Financial Group’s MAPS Capital Management Limited’s Asia Opportunity Arbitrage Fund (the “Fund”) is set to increase its activity in index spreads and dispersion packages over the next few months as it develops the necessary infrastructure to be active in volatility arbitrage. The fund aims to provide an attractive absolute return through the deployment of arbitrage strategies in Asia Pacific and U.S. markets. In the U.S, investors are hanging back from rolling trades or playing higher volatility during this week’s quadruple “witching” expiration, as they await details of the Federal Open Market Committee’s two day meeting. Hopefully volumes will pick up again on Wednesday, post meeting. In the people and firms section, BlueCrest Capital Management has hired an equity derivatives researcher from Barclays in London to work in a trading role, also in London.
