The biggest news today was the conclusion of the Fed’s FOMC meeting, which saw the VIX decline 4% with the lack of interest rate action. The consistent low VIX levels is obviously taking its toll on investors using the benchmark for tail risk protection, as they basically watch their money evaporate. In the U.K., local authority pension schemes are increasingly considering structured equity strategies as they seek passive-style fees when generating returns in a risk-adjusted manner, according to River and Mercantile Group.
