Former RBC Vol Prop Head Opens Fund To Outside Investors

​Longtime vol trader Jim Carney is opening a new cross-asset volatility fund to outside investors. Carney, who previously lead Royal Bank of Canada’s volatility prop trading efforts from New York, has been running Parplus Partners for just over a year and is now starting to seek external investment. The fund looks at volatilities across everything from structured products to indices, single stocks, commodities and fixed income, Carney said.
