Dec 21, 2016
The Dow Jones Industrial Average threatened to break 20,000 today as the CBOE VIX slipped another 1.5% heading towards 11. While the DJIA actually declined slightly, along with the S&P 500, market pundits in the mainstream media are divided on how long until we see a real correction in equities. In the U.S., we talk to one annuity developer that has his sights set on the millennial market. They’re a little more conservative than their baby boomer parents, and seem to like the idea of an insurance wrapper on their investments. We also talk this week to BNP about their div outlook. 2018 might be the kicker for that market. Also in annuities, Security Benefit this week teamed with UBS to release an FIA, backed with UBS custom indices. We’ll be signing off for the holiday break from tonight until January 3. Be sure to enjoy the holiday season and stay safe out on the roads. Here’s to a great 2017 ahead! – EQD staff
