New Funds Find Capital Hard To Come By

Quantitative investment managers shopping new funds say they are finding it hard to raise capital this year so far, as the still-rising stock market favors more traditional investments and 2018’s performance woes hang over alternative risk premia and other strategies. Investors seem to be hesitant about new alternative funds in particular, according to three investment managers that spoke with EQDerivatives. All three are experienced managers who said this year has been more of a challenge than they expected. They declined to talk on the record because they are still marketing their funds.
