Options Strategies Gain Acceptance Among US Institutional Investors – OIC Study

Nearly all institutional investors believe options can add value to an investment strategy, but some are likely overlooking option strategies as a way to improve risk-adjusted returns, according to a new survey of 80 U.S. institutional managers. The Options Industry Council sponsored the study, which was conducted by Greenwich Associates. The aim of the research was to look at how institutional investors, and particularly under-funded pension systems, are using options to boost returns, protect investments, improve funding ratios or decrease portfolio volatility.
