After a difficult 2018 filled with negative headlines for volatility investors, volatility harvesting funds are adjusting. Last year was a tough one for investors that bought into vol harvesting funds, sold on the concept that volatility was an asset class in its own right, with defensive characteristics. One bright spot, however, is the relative outperformance of some managers. Can actively-managed funds work this selling point to their advantage?
