Standard Life’s Rudd Sees Value In Puts To Manage SX5E Beta

Standard Life Investments is finding increased justification for buying two-year put options on the Eurostoxx 50 (SX5E) as opposed to holding short futures positions to manage the equity beta of its absolute return funds, based on current vol levels, according to Adam Rudd, an investment director in the firm’s multi-asset investment team in Edinburgh.
