​The week concluded with significant put flow in oil ETFs and names related to the oil sector, with the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF and United States Oil Fund standing out to option traders on Friday. During a largely subdued week in the U.S. due to Thanksgiving, the majority of notable put flow in the market surrounded OPEC, with BHP Billiton in particular standing out in single stock options. In People & Firms, Citi’s David Silber spoke with EQDerivatives on his plan to expand the firm’s New York equity derivatives sales desk, while we also look at the latest development in smart beta indices. In Europe, we look at how hedge funds are beginning to close their books for the year, and are currently focusing on cleaning up positions in European single stocks and indices. Meanwhile, in Asia, we focused on the launch of Nikkei 400 futures and uptake from investors.
