Bala Krishnaraj leads market risk management at Lincoln Financial Group, where he oversees the company's comprehensive hedge programs and derivative trading operations managing more than $150 billion in assets across Annuities, Life Insurance and Deferred Compensation plans. As a holistic risk, capital & investments leader, he directs enterprise-wide modeling initiatives to support asset, liability, capital, credit and asset allocation strategies.
In his executive leadership role, Bala chairs the Market Risk Management Committee and serves on both the Enterprise Risk Capital Committee and Investment Committee, driving critical decisions that shape the organization's risk framework and investment strategy. Under his leadership, the Market Risk Management team has achieved significant milestones, including the successful launch of new product
initiatives, in-housing trade execution, expansion of hedging capabilities to indexed products and creation of sophisticated in-house projection platforms.
Prior to joining Lincoln Financial in 2017, Bala served as vice president and head of capital market solutions at Voya Financial. His extensive capital markets experience includes leadership positions at ING, Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, where he established a strong track record in derivatives, modeling and technology innovation.
Bala received his from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a from the University of Michigan. Bala earned his MBA in Finance and Strategy from New York University Stern School of Business, and he holds CFA and FRM designations.
Bala serves on the board of Charity Crossing, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged communities through sustainable initiatives. He resides in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, with his family.
