Dennis Chong is a seasoned investment professional with deep expertise in asset and liability management (ALM), strategic asset allocation (SAA) and market risk. With a proven track record in managing multi-billion-dollar portfolios, Dennis has played a key role in implementing new ALM framework, optimizing risk-adjusted returns and implementing innovative investment strategies.
Currently serving as head of ALM and External Strategies at AIA Australia, Dennis oversees the company’s balance sheet management, market risk strategies and external fund investments, including private credit and equities. Dennis has successfully implemented BlackRock Aladdin, built ALM frameworks, optimizing returns to capital through SAA review, selecting private credit managers to invest in and developed risk analytics to enhance investment decision-making.
With prior experience at Commonwealth Bank and other major financial institutions, Dennis has a wealth of knowledge in managing interest rate and inflation risk, portfolio construction, and capital management. A recipient of multiple CEO Awards, Dennis is known for driving innovation and excellence in investment and market risk management. Dennis is an Australian Colombo Plan scholarship recipient, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance from UTS. He also holds a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
