Matt Talbert is a director in the multi-asset strategies group at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas. His group manages quantitative equity and cross-asset portfolios for the Trust. Matt serves as a portfolio manager for TRS’s Alternative Risk Premia portfolio, a diversified set of factor premia strategies implemented with equities, bonds, FX, and commodities.
He earned a Ph.D and a Master of Science in economics from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Trinity University and has worked at TRS since 2011.
