Bechara Bardawil

Bechara Bardawil joined Blominvest Bank in 2006 as portfolio manager and was appointed as head of portfolio management at BLOM Asset Management in 2016.

Bechara previously worked at Dar Group (Shair and Partners) as an economist, and at Arab Bank plc as a credit analyst. He later worked at Arab Investment Bank s.a.l. where he managed the bank’s securities and placements portfolio.

In his current capacity, Bechara oversees a team of dedicated portfolio managers assigned to the various funds and discretionary portfolio mandates under management. He also leads the company’s quantitative research unit and serves as head of quantitative strategies at Blominvest Saudi Arabia.

On the portfolio management side, Bechara is responsible for ensuring that portfolio managers adopt and follow adequate investment processes, while channeling quantitative strategies research towards enhancing investment performance of actively managed mandates, as well as towards the creation and launching of smart beta index trackers in Saudi Arabia.

Bechara obtained a B.A. in economics and a Masters in money and banking from the American University of Beirut (AUB). He is also a CFA charterholder.
