Bernhard Scherer

Dr. Bernhard (Bernd) Scherer is head of quantitative portfolio management at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). He joins from LBBW Asset Management where he was the CIO (overlooking 110 billion assets under management) and executive board member.

Previously he held managing director positions at Morgan Stanley in London and Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and New York where he ran quantitative TAA strategies, factor strategies and portfolio solutions. Bernd is an ex professor of finance and has published extensively in academic Journals. He was also the Deutsche Bank chair for sovereign wealth funds at EDHEC.

He won the EQD best paper award twice and authored or coauthored five books in quantitative asset management.
