Carlos Morales-Arce

head of equity flow derivatives trading, BBVA

Carlos Morales-Arce is the head of equity flow derivatives trading in BBVA, a role which he has been serving for 6 years. In this role, he acts as a volatility manager for both index and single stocks portfolios on the sell side. In addition to that, he is actively involved in the design and implementation of different hedging approaches, including dispersion trading as well as advanced techniques for estimation of future volatility.

Carlos accumulates more than 20 years’ experience actively trading Equity Volatility. He started as a market maker for BBV Interactivos, and then became a flow trader in BBVA covering many sectors, including financials, autos, telecoms, utilities and oils. In 2010, he became head of the single stock flow team. 

Carlos earned bachelor´s and master’s degrees in economics from CUNEF and IESE, both in Madrid, Spain.
