Darran Specter

Dr Darran Specter CFA, recently joined Brevan Howard where he serves as a senior portfolio strategist, currently working on the firm’s top down  portfolio construction and strategic capital allocation. He has been allocating to quantitative/systematic hedge funds for most of his career.

Before joining Brevan Howard, he was a portfolio manager in the Alternatives Investment Department at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) where he specialized in systematic and quantitative strategies, helping to run one of the world’s largest pools of capital investing in hedge funds.  Before joining ADIA, he was head of quantitative investment research at Cardano in London and quantitative research at fund of hedge funds NewFinance (acquired by Shroders).

He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from Imperial College, London.
