David Chua

David Chua joined Income Insurance Limited in 2023 as the chief investment officer (CIO) and a Member of the Executive Committee. With over 2 decades of capital market and investment management experiences, David is a seasoned CIO with extensive track record with Prudential plc, Munich Re, Goldman Sachs, Nomura and Standard Chartered Bank. His core expertise lies in Asset-Liability Management, Asset Allocation, Fund Manager Selection and Derivative Overlays.

A CFA charterholder since 2006, he holds a clear grasp of macro trends and proven delivery of investment outcomes for insurers, asset managers and financial institutions. He excels in both strategic and execution roles – building investment teams and target operating models, developing and implementing Total Portfolio Approach, constructing liability-driven solutions. With effective stakeholder management and people leadership skills, he is frequently entrusted by CEOs and Boards as a strategic business partner and transformation leader including M&A transactions

Having lived and worked in financial hubs of New York, London and Singapore, David speaks regularly at leadership and investment forums. He is passionate about purpose-led organisations and people development to harness the potential in others. He volunteers for the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change (AIGCC), Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) and HCA Hospice as Board Member.
