Diego Parrilla

Diego Parrilla is principal at 36 South Capital, a USD 2 billion hedge fund with headquarters in London specialized in volatility and tail risk. Diego has 25+ years of investment experience in London, New York, Singapore, and Madrid and held senior leadership roles at industry leaders JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, BlueCrest Capital, Dymon Asia, OMGI, and Quadriga. Diego published “The Energy World is Flat: Opportunities from the End of Peak Oil” (Wiley, 2014), best-seller co-written with Daniel Lacalle published in English, Spanish and Chinese, and “The Anti-Bubbles: Opportunities heading into Lehman Squared and Gold´s Perfect Storm” (BEP, 2017), and contributor to leading financial media, including the Financial Times (two Insight Columns), Wall Street Journal, CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Real Vision TV, Hedgeye, MacroVoices, or El Mundo, amongst others. Diego holds MSc Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, MSc Petroleum Economics and Management from the French Institute of Petroleum in Paris, and MSc Mining and Petroleum Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, which he completed with highest honours and a full academic scholarship. Diego is married and father of 3 children and passionate about sports (former competitive soccer and tennis player) and foreign cultures and languages (fluent in Spanish, English, French and keen student of Italian and Mandarin Chinese).
