Michael Sommers

Michael joined HESTA in 2021 with 20+ years of experience gained in roles across banks and advisors in market risk and derivative strategies. He has a storied history of designing, implementing and monitoring the strategic and dynamic asset allocations for a range of investment options and enabling a team of professionals to actively risk manage these strategies.

As GM – Portfolio Construction and Risk, he is responsible for setting and managing long and medium-term strategic asset allocation and risk budgeting, ensuring an optimal balance between risk and return.
