Romy Shioda

Romy Shioda leads public markets in the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Investments’ Office of the chief investment officer, investment portfolio management (IPM) group. IPM is responsible for managing the active portfolios in the fund, ensuring the optimal combination of active investment programs. Prior to joining CPP Investments in 2021, Romy was a managing director at Goldman Sachs, where she headed the single stocks equity strategies team in the systematic trading strategies group. She has also held positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s global portfolio trading team and led the professional services team at Axioma.
Romy began her career in academia as a faculty member in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization, Mathematics Faculty, at the University of Waterloo. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a Doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
