Satyan Patel

Satyan Patel is a senior vice president and head of buyside at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX). Satyan is responsible for business development for all international long-only, hedge and quant fund and pension fund investors for the HKEX.

Satyan has been heavily involved in the Stock Connect, Bond Connect and other key initiatives around connectivity between the capital markets of China and Hong Kong, as well as market structure-related aspects for the HK market itself. Prior to the HKEX, Satyan was at Citigroup for over 10 years in the investment banking and markets divisions across both Australia and Hong Kong.

Satyan holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Sydney.
