Sougata Sarkar

Sougata Sarkar is senior director, investments with FM Global Investment Management (FMGIM), the investment management group of FM Global. FM
Global is one of the world’s leading commercial property insurers. FM Global Investment Management group managed approximately $25B in insurance assets as of December 31, 2021.

Sougata joined from PAAMCO West70 Capital, an absolute return derivatives focused fund he co-managed and helped launch, as a spin-off from Harvard Management Company’s (“HMC”, Harvard University’s endowment) internal trading platform. Sougata was previously a portfolio manager at HMC where he co-managed the portfolio that was the foundation for West70. He also spent a few years overseeing risk and portfolio strategy for several public asset classes and hedge fund strategies at HMC. He began his career in the Global Markets division at Deutsche Bank where he focused on interest rates and structured products, working in Asia, New York, and London.

Sougata holds a Masters in Finance from MIT Sloan School of Management and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
