Tatjana Puhan
head of asset allocation, Swiss Re

Tatjana Puhan, PhD, is as head of asset allocation of Swiss Re responsible for the long-term and short-term asset allocation and investment strategy as well as the listed equity investments of the insurance’s balance sheet investments. Tatjana has more than 18 years of investment experience, worked at a number of leading asset management and private banking businesses while also bringing a strong academic and research background.
Prior to joining Swiss Re she was chief investment officer responsible for the investment management activities at Copernicus Wealth Management SA, an independent Swiss based asset and wealth manager, supporting high net worth individuals, families and institutional clients. Before joining Copernicus, Tatjana held several senior positions such as Deputy Chief Investment officer at the quantitative institutional asset manager TOBAM, where she was overseeing all research and portfolio management teams.
Before her appointment at TOBAM she was at Swiss Life Asset Managers in the role as head of equity and asset allocation for third party asset management. Tatjana holds a master’s degree in finance and business administration from the University of Hamburg and earned her PhD in finance from the Swiss Financial Institute at the University of Zurich, with research fellow appointments at the University of Zurich, Kellogg Business School (Northwestern University), and the University of Hamburg. She is a lecturer in finance at the University of Mannheim, Paris Dauphine and an associated researcher of the Hamburg Financial Research Centre as well as member of the editorial board of the Financial Analyst Journal.
