William Dorsey

William Dorsey is a portfolio manager at Schonfeld, where he runs a systematic cross-commodity pod as part of the firm’s Quantitative Strategies division. Before joining Schonfeld, William was co-head of the quantitative commodity portfolio at Tudor Investment Corporation’s Systems Group, which spun out to become Xantium Group. From 2012 to 2016, William worked at Trafigura, one of the world’s largest independent commodity trading companies, as a proprietary discretionary trader across energy, base metal and bulk commodities, as well as spearheading their internal data science effort.
Prior to Trafigura, William worked at UBS and Macquarie Bank where he focussed on proprietary trading in the European power, gas and emissions markets. Over his career he has worked in London, Geneva, Shanghai and Singapore. He has developed and traded a wide range of directional and non-directional strategies including volatility, cross-commodity and geographical arbitrage in both the systematic and discretionary space. He received his Bachelors degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University and a Masters in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck, University of London.
